Rattlesnake Ledge

Antek’s age: 6 months, carried (duh!).

Rattlesnake Ledge is probably one of the best hikes near Seattle (~40 minutes drive) in terms of effort to reward ratio. It’s fairly short (4 miles roundtrip), and the views from it are stunning.

I would recommend going in the morning, otherwise it gets pretty crowded in the parking lot and on the trail.

Did I mention that it’s also kids friendly? 🙂 (if you carry them, that is)

Autumn

In the last few years in late summer / early autumn the lake was almost dried out, revealing trees, old houses, etc. It is an incredible experience.
